Re: Arrow: Cheapest Prices/Best Places to Buy/Pre-Orders/Deals
HMV now have 80 Arrow Academy titles in their ongoing 5 Blus for £30 (3 for £20) offer.
I went through the list yesterday afternoon. It was galling to see so many titles that I had bought for £7.65 each (delivered) in the recent Arrow sale!
Although I started off with 19 HMV "possibles", I will probably only buy One-Eyed Jacks and The Untamed. I can then buy three non-Arrow titles on my wants list to make up the five: The Martian (Extended Edition), Sorcerer (bought previously but returned as not playable by my Oppo 103D) and The Girl With All The Gifts.

Fopp's the same (or similar). There was a lot I had bought in the last same, plus several others at £6, including Montparnasse, Inferno, La prova di orchestra and a couple more.

What sites does Amazon.co.uk price match for? Ismael's Ghosts is still stuck at MSRP even after the release date

Thanks, I've been trying Zavvi, will see if Base will work for a price match, even though it is more

Arrow's release of the Burning is forbidden to US customers on Amazon.co.uk (and not because right now it's Prime exclusive-- other Prime exclusive titles have no such restriction)-- since when does Arrow restrict their titles on Amazon? A good chunk of their market reach is people importing their superior editions

As with when this happened with MoC, I don’t think Arrow actually has anything to do with this and it’s just a random occurrence that happens from time to time.

If you haven't done the free Prime trial over there, that's a pretty good workaround for a month or two. I did that last year to get one of their box sets.

Did you actually go so far as to try ordering it? I’ve seen messages stating as much on item listings before, only to find no trouble actually buying it. That said I once had the same issue with a disc from Amazon CA. They claimed I shouldn’t have an issue, and yet I did.

I hoped for their books to be discounted, but it unfortunately doesn't seem to be the case.
Good prices though for all these standard releases. Interestingly, they also seem to have found some LE OOP boxsets back, like the House Collection or the Shock Treatment. And they're making quite a hefty profit on the Black Cats two-fer, now sold at £60 !

Re: Arrow: Cheapest Prices/Best Places to Buy/Pre-Orders/Deals
The books have been just £5 each in Fopp, but they ran out of the Meiko Kaji one before I could get one (I just got The Blair Witch Project one instead). Hoping they do it again sometime so I can get the Lone Wolf & Cub, The Man Who Fell to Earth and Philip K. Dick ones...
Anyway, not a bad sale. I just got Detective Bureau 2-3, Dark Blue and Blood Bath this time around though. The Miike trilogies are very cheap, and looks as if Videodrome LE sold very quickly (surprised they still had some). Shame the NZ films aren't in this offer (apart from Vigil, but I can wait for the next sale for that).

Haven't looked at the sale yet, but figures my copy of Detective Bureau 2-3 just shipped from amazon… well at least that's the only Arrow non pre-order I made.
And… looks like maybe next time.

Re: Arrow: Cheapest Prices/Best Places to Buy/Pre-Orders/Deals
Ordered the Black Cats set and The Bird with the Crystal Plumage even though I'm happy with my Blue Underground blu-ray but I'm a glutton for more scholarly contexts in the extras. Still debating whether to try the Death Walks Twice set having read mixed feelings on this forum of those films even though the extras are promising.
EDIT: Picked up the Phantasm set as well.

There goes planning to save for Black Friday...
I snagged Matinee, Carrie, and Tenebrae. The Argento film is a bit of a gamble on my part, since I liked Deep Red but not so much Fulci's The Black Cat.

I'm guessing there will be another sale later in the year that will include more? I can't recall exactly what they've done in past sales, but including a whole 7 Arrow Academy titles here seems very paltry.

I nabbed Suture, Phenomena, Spider Baby, and Audition. Figures I just purchased that Toshiaki Toyoda set on eBay (which arrived damaged, yay), but the price was cheaper, so whatever.
