Re: Fox Catalog Titles on Blu
It says it'll be a 2-disc set so that would appear to be the case. Scott's people have a good track record of making sure that most if not all his special editions find their way to Blu-ray.

Not yet for "Black Hawk Down"...
The "Kingdom Of Heaven" 4-disc set is still one of the best DVD sets I've seen. I remember the movie being great (only saw the longer cut) when I first watched it, but wasn't as memorable as many of his other films. I was also surprised that the "Gladiator" Blu-ray had even more extras than the DVDs had, "Kingdom Of Heaven" might be the same as well?

Re: Fox Catalog Titles on Blu
It doesn't retain everything from the 3-disc DVD, but I assume that's more of a rights issue because there were separate PBS and History Channel specials included. There were also some Q&A's that didn't show up but the Blu retains the commentaries and the long EPK that made up much of the 2nd DVD. It is probably due for an upgrade because it was one of the first Blu's Sony put out.manicsounds wrote:Not yet for "Black Hawk Down"...
The big one that hasn't come out yet for me is Matchstick Men, which I'm surprised WB hasn't put out because it seems like everything else from around that time they've already upgraded.

Re: Fox Catalog Titles on Blu
Going back to Fox since this is a Fox thread, they are not in any hurry to upgrade to BD Ridley Scott's "A Good Year".
(I checked and was surprised with the amount of extras on the initial DVD release, considering no one saw the movie)

Re: Fox Catalog Titles on Blu
The Counselor has it's fair share of extras too. It even has 2 Blu-ray discs, which is indicative of the stroke he has with them.
I watched A Good Year on cable fairly recently, and thought it was a lot better than my initial perception was.

Ridley Scott's "A Good Year", Amazon France and Germany have a listing for it for February 2015.

The two I would love to see Fox release are The Ox Bow Incident and Call Northside 777.

Given reputation and star I imagine we'll see the Wellman sooner than later.

Re: Fox Catalog Titles on Blu
Wrong! You should thank me for my answer. We have waited so long for this title. Please don't want this to get shoved somewhere in that set. Ox-Bow Incident should come from Fox, Criterion or TT as a solo release. Let's just wait.Drucker wrote:Gotta include Ox-Bow Incident, right?
I am guessing that this set is going to be a collection of films Fox has already issued. They have done few box sets like that recently (The John Wayne or the D-Day collection). If this set brings us some westerns not yet released, I am all game for it.

Re: Fox Catalog Titles on Blu
I am less inclined to think Twilight Time will release Ox Bow. But I think MoC is a player for this title. They are huge William Wellman fans and have a good relationship with Fox. Just a hunch.
Early in TT's existence (about 5 years ago) they said Ox Bow was high on their list. When asked now, they say "we do not have the title at this time" and when I pressed by reminding of "high on their list," of course they (Redman) turned snippy.
I'm thinking Fox will release themselves on this side of pond.

I'm really hoping this western collection includes The Ox Bow Incident, The Gunfighter and/or Rawhide.

Re: Fox Catalog Titles on Blu
Given that it's a 20 disc set for $70, it's hard to imagine that it wouldn't be a repackaging of already-available titles
