If you don’t already have it, Inn of the Sixth Happiness is a title I can’t see ever coming out from someone else

Re: The OOP Heads-Up Thread
When the fear hit me a month or so ago, I picked up:
An Affair to Remember
Bus Stop
Cleopatra
The Counselor
Fantastic Voyage
The Fly
Gnetlemen Broncos
The Grapes of Wrath
Kingdom of Heaven
Niagara
Speed
Unstoppable
Viva Zapata!
And thanks to Domino's post I nabbed Working Girl, which was impossible to find for the past two months. The Razor's Edge has been a tough one to track down at a decent price.

Picked up The Razor's Edge, as mentioned above, as well as How Green Was My Valley, The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, and On the Riviera. I can't exactly recommend the last one, but I doubt anyone else will release it down the line (and hey, Gene Tierney.)

Just for another place to check, when I was hunting a few weeks ago, Amazon.ca also had some that Amazon.com didn't.
Other titles I haven't seen mentioned in these recent posts:
Jesse James
Inn of the Sixth Happiness
Bus Stop
The Black Swan
Grapes of Wrath

Re: The OOP Heads-Up Thread
I wouldn't panic over A Letter To Three Wives, as there is the MoC, which is what I got a while back (dvdbeaver gave it a slight edge).
Or should we worry that titles licensed to boutique labels (including Criterion) also be in danger?

Re: The OOP Heads-Up Thread
If anyone wants to pick up a lot of recent Fox movies, the Fox Searchlight blu-Ray box is only $99 from a marketplace seller and fulfilled by Amazon
I also picked up Von Ryan’s Express and Kingdom of Heaven. I can’t really start thinking about unseen recent movies though, there’s too many!

Re: The OOP Heads-Up Thread
I wanted to pick up Twelve O'Clock High, but it's not available, but it's also part of a 3-in-1 with Tora Tora Tora and Von Ryan's Express that is, so I got that.

Re: The OOP Heads-Up Thread
Kazan is a blind spot for me (except for Viva Zapata!, which I already have). So I got Panic in the Streets, Boomerang, Gentleman's Agreement, Wild River and from MoC A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (thanks Ribs!).
I also got Niagara, and from MoC Mank's No Way Out (thanks RIbs again).
I really wanted Blood and Sand but judging from prices online that's been OOP for a while now.

Don't forget America, America in that case. It's possibly the best from that Fox set.

Re: The OOP Heads-Up Thread
I don't think that's sold separately (?). Because I purchased all those titles individually.

Turns out they rented from WB which did put out an individual DVD.

Probably too late for anyone who didn't already have them, but all of those great Brit Marling movies are now going to be lost forever...

Re: The OOP Heads-Up Thread
A real shame, especially since I don’t have any of them. I have no excuse tho as I’ve been following her career since practically the start.
Edit: Region B copies of Another Earth aren't too crazy so I grabbed on. Debating whether or not to spend the $30+ on Sound of My Voice though, which is my favorite

Also, in the midst of all this panic buying of Fox titles, don't forget that all of Lionsgate's releases of Miramax titles are OOP and also slowly disappearing. Given how unpopular Weinstein is right now, it may be a while til someone buys that catalog and puts it out again

Paramount has the home video rights to the Miramax catalog now via their buying a large stake of the company.

If anyone's hesitating about picking up Haynes' Mildred Pierce, don't.
And who knows what the status of Fox titles in the rest of the world is going to be, but I just put in a big ol' order from jpc.de that includes the German release of Hawks' I Was a Male War Bride (which looks really good!). And shipping was shockingly reasonable...

Re: The OOP Heads-Up Thread
Thanks for pointing this one out. I'm in Canada and jpc.de says it doesn't deliver here, but I found the blu ray is available both on Amazon.com and .casenseabove wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2020 2:58 amAnd who knows what the status of Fox titles in the rest of the world is going to be, but I just put in a big ol' order from jpc.de that includes the German release of Hawks' I Was a Male War Bride (which looks really good!).
