Whoops. Guess that’s what I get for posting with a sick baby in the house. Should be all good now.

Your list of excluded titles reminds me... Here is that 7-Up commercial, which was later included in Fantastic Animation Festival

Could I request Unter dem Pflaster ist der Strand (Helma Sanders-Brahm) and Per le antiche scale (Mauro Bolognini)?

Just submitted my ballot and want to rep for those films I suspect might get orphaned.

Xala mixes fantasy, satire, and particulars of Senegalese culture in a way that produces a genuine unicorn of cinema. There isn’t anything I’ve seen like it.

Hester Street also uses the particulars of a culture to criticize and reshape the future. Both of these films, and many on my list, really attempt a social revamping by using past crimes against a group as a moment of activity and not just victimization for that group. They’re also just hilarious films. The Maids is another one that goes well beyond its status as a filmed play.

Thematically different Peleshian‘s Seasons makes Vertov live again while I think The Great Waldo Pepper is just fun in the Bogdanovich mold.

I don't need any of these following film titles to be added since I haven't seen them. But I've got an external drive full of downloaded 70s mostly exploitation films, the seedier side let's just say. Just for fun, these are the titles for 1975 that I didn't see on this list (if ever anybody wants to add one!) - surprised to see a fair number of them are already listed though!

The Vixens of Kung Fu
The Ultimate Warrior
The Swinging Barmaids
The Reincarnation of Peter Proud
The Man in the Glass Booth
The Candy Tangerine Man
The Black Gestapo
Teenage Seductress
Summer School Teachers
Sudden Fury
Strip Nude for Your Killer
Satan's Children
Poor Pretty Eddie
Pick-up
Night Train Murders
Le jeu avec le feu
Last Stop on the Night Train
Eyeball
Bug
Bucktown

Have I submitted a list here, swo? I've been meaning to, but don't recall whether I actually did.

I wouldn’t prioritize this one, it’s awful. And Strip Nude for Your Killer is somehow worse than it sounds!

Likewise Summer School Teachers is more culturally interesting than good.

No. I just submitted my ballot and it ended up on the scrap heap (along with Operation: Daybreak, Los pájaros de Baden-Baden, Sunday Too Far Away, Deewaar, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Dog Day Afternoon, Mandingo, Smile, La Cecilia, Örökbefogadás, Dupont Lajoie or Nishant).

Nazareno Cruz and the Wolf has to be far and away the best werewolf movie ever, right? With a few touches that reminded me of Ruiz and Parajanov Favio crafts an alluring fairytale about lost love that feels like something being retold a hundred generations later.
Not sure there’s stiff competition (or maybe I’ve forgotten all the great werewolf movies out there!) but I thought this was fine, with one knockout sequence that’s ironically the opposite of what anyone would expect a “knockout sequence” in a werewolf movie to be. It’s not some gory set piece or composite of novel Ruiz-ian angles, but a close up kiss that’s full-on make-out between the two leads for like five straight minutes. It’s a risky long take that would probably alienate or provoke laughter in most films, but it’s maybe the most passionate on-screen kiss I’ve ever seen, and fully immerses the audience into defining this relationship as valuable by the physical chemistry alone rather than feeding us long-term verbal development in stages. None of the actual werewolf stuff that came later was nearly as stimulating as that moment, which seemed to stop time the way the best kiss of your own life probably did. I rarely get transfixed on romantic or sexual encounters in movies, so I’m sure my reaction is based partially on that disruption of neutrality, but I was shocked the film had the audacity to go there, and stay there, and pull it off the way it did. I wonder if the principal actors were romantically involved

Well I spoke too soon - I just happened to stumble onto Wolf Guy and it's already a better werewolf movie. It's also not on SNAPSЖOT - is it possible to add it?

Thanks, as always, swo!

1. Nashville
2. Wrong Move
3. At Long Last Love
4. Barry Lyndon
5. Euridice BA 2037
6. Benilde or the Virgin Mother
7. Picnic at Hanging Rock
8. Mirror
9. Inserts
10. Love and Death

I've noticed that my personal master list is inconsistent with my esteemed films by Fassbinder and Chabrol, and despite checking over the master list here, I failed to vote for both Innocents with Dirty Hands and Fear of Fear, which would've both placed just outside my top ten. Sorry about that - I'll try to keep an eye out for these guys in particular moving forward!

Thanks so much once more swo.

My top 4 are closely tied to the top 5 results. As I said previously, these are among my favorite films of all time. (This is one rare year where the Oscars got it pretty right!)

1. Jaws
2. Barry Lyndon
3. Professione: Reporter [The Passenger]
4. Nashville
