Damn them, don't they know they are delaying Minkin's Rodeo.

I'm surprised no-one's thought this is Streisand's notorious last-minute fiddliness coming into play for the obvious #1000 selection of The Prince of Tides.

I don’t get why they won’t just announce everything that’s not the Godzilla set though.
Maybe... [musical sting] THEY ALREADY HAVE

Seen on Facebook:

"I am now telling the Criterion Collection exactly what they can do with their October new releases!"

998 - Beats Beats Beats
999 - one film that somehow contains elements of every other wacky doodle
1000 - The Prince of Tides
Border Radio (upgrade)
...and then a carefully crafted press release that, having painstakingly curated 1000 titles (more or less) into canon, the Criterion Collection declares "Mission Accomplished" and closes up shop.

Jonathan Keogh just tweeted “wrapping the trailer of that thing film Twitter is freaking out over and they still won’t even know if they should be freaking out til 5. I love this energy.”
Once Upon a Time In Hollywood spine #1000 confirmed
I actually thought about this the past day or so

This better be the announcement of all announcements when they finally drop the bomb. All this build up should not be for nothing. Now I don’t just want Citizen Kane, I want two Citizens Kanes. And please add King Kong and Casablanca too! Thanks.
The only way I'd accept Criterion's reparation for this delay is if the #1000 is Gone With the Wind and that they took their trip to Paris to interview Olivia de Havilland 16 days ago when she turned 103 yo and signed a copy for me !

I even had this Rodeo's outro song up and ready to go too!

I wait to find out what's been announced until my partner gets home, so that I get to play my own version of the Quarantined Guessing thread, only with more guess options. So, at least I'm not refreshing and waiting like I used to, but my partner keeps thinking their phone must be broken when the page hasn't updated.

They're waiting for Planet Hype to deliver all the cane replicas for the Citizen Kane gift sets.
Speaking of which, this was a month or so back when I delivered my cane, I mean, creation to a FB Criterion group. I called it Citizen 1K. Image

I could kind of see Welles loving Bamboozled in theory, maybe not so much in filmic practice

And since "we are sharing" here is another one I did when I learned Criterion was to release a big box of Godzillas.

Domino, sorry, if I am clogging the pipes, but I hope when the dust settles, we can separate all these anxiety-driven posts into a separate thread.

If you ever wanted to know how long a title can now be in the latest version of phpBB: nine characters longer than this one. So if Criterion doesn't announce by Friday, this is basically our Y2K

There will be light, I promise you. But no Welles.

Criterion is waiting for comic-con to commence so they can actually reveal spine 1000 wasn't held up for Toho's presence but for #releasethesnydercut

That will be their biggest and fastest seller.
Zack Snyder's Slow-Mo Cinema. I'm hoping for a 24 Hour Man of Steel extra and a Bay & Snyder commentary

If they do drop the titles today, I hope they are kind enough not to drag this out all day

Continuing their trolling, they just tweeted about The Baker’s Wife. They’re certainly enjoying riding this wave.

Yeah, I really hope this is a joke. Should their social media person just have to use vacation time because you're impatient about announcements?

I can't believe we have to go through this again today and potentially tomorrow.
