My copy crossed the ocean safely to Canada. Bonus points for MoC's packing practices; the two layers of cardboard did a lot to protect the item, with only a minor bump to the box.
One good thing about the book: there is little chance of misplacing it as happens once in a while with thin DVD booklets. However, it is harder to handle since it is not made to open out flat (unless you wish to crack the spine).
I had thought MoC might have taken this opportunity to scale down on the packaging, reducing costs by using 2-disc cases (or even a single 4-disc one). Instead, they chose to give this release the heft and visual quality such works highly deserve.
The only thing left to do now is viewing the movies...

While it's indeed very nice looking and high quality feeling, I probably wouldn't have been against tryng to fit more discs per case to save some shelf space.Florinaldo wrote:I had thought MoC might have taken this opportunity to scale down on the packaging, reducing costs by using 2-disc cases (or even a single 4-disc one). Damn, I got a glimpse of my box number last night and now I'm tempted to post the damned thing. Must. . . resist. . .zedz wrote:Just got my copy. It probably has a number on it, but who cares?

Mine also came to Canada today, but not so much luck, it received a blow on the box spine hard enough to dent it and split the paper on the top edge. But this is par for the course for me and mail order. As a limited edition item I don't think there is much to be done about it, anyway. On the shelf the damage will not be noticeable.Florinaldo wrote:My copy crossed the ocean safely to Canada. Actually, you might want to reach Kevin on that if you think it's bad enough. It seems that they might have some spare outer box (not numbered) that they could send to people who received sets too damaged. You would then just have to peal the sticker and stick it back on the new mint box (Kevin wrote it should be easily feasible).htom wrote:Mine also came to Canada today, but not so much luck, it received a blow on the box spine hard enough to dent it and split the paper on the top edge. Any fellow Americans still Mizoguchi-less? How will I ever rest until I know and post my number here?

I'm still waiting for mine, but since I just ordered from Amazon yesterday that is to be expected.

Fellow Americans my Late Mizoguchi set numbered 57 has arrived slightly dented on the bottom corners but otherwise in good shape.

Though slightly outdone by Mr. Kaplan's lucky number 13, I have just received number 21 in Tennessee. In person, this set has even more-so the air a precious object.

Now I feel so utterly humiliated by my 124, I'll probably not even be able to bear watching the other 7 films in the set. Good thing I watched Oyu-sama before I realized how crummy my number was.

Mine arrived yesterday. The shipping box was crushed, but the set was unscathed.chatterjees wrote:Has anybody received their order from amazon?

I'm in the same boat as you, waiting for my Amazon order to arrive in Pittsburgh. The estimated delivery date is today, though I'm not holding my breath, because UK packages seem to consistently take two weeks to reach my doorstep. I haven't been home since early this morning, so I'll certainly update you if I find that it has been delivered.chatterjees wrote:Has anybody received their order from amazon?

Best of luck.
Surprisingly, I have 3 separate dispatches, which are all dispatched on the same date, but have different expected delivery dates. For me, the delivery date for this distach is Nov 14.
You are right, usually they take 2 weeks. There are exceptions also. I got Runaway Train from Arrow directly in 4 days!
let's just hope we get our edition numbers on the back cover of the box, apparently there are some with no numbers

I'm getting a little nervous, my James Dean set arrived crushed, but the shipping box was pretty much unscathed. Fingers crossed...lefeufollet wrote:Mine arrived yesterday. The shipping box was crushed, but the set was unscathed.chatterjees wrote:Has anybody received their order from amazon?
Edit: Should have knocked on wood instead. Sending mine back, too dented up on the bottom (including the booklet).

The Mizoguchi box is much sturdier than the Dean box. I received both and the Mizoguchi was fine, but the Dean was crushed.
